1. Your Bio
My heart will always be a dancer, but one day my body won’t let me do that anymore so I will have my business to keep me inspired. I love performing because it allows me to give. I give to the audience when I’m onstage, hopefully inspiring and motivating. I’ve found that running my own concierge fitness company in Chicago allows me to do that as well. I aim to motivate, inspire and help people change their lives for the better! Live fearless! That’s what I’m all about.
2. What 5 words explain you the best?
Passionate, motivated, goofy, loving, funky.
3. What dreams do you have for the future?
Never stop growing. I like to be constantly growing and changing, trying to get better, trying to achieve that next level for myself. It leads to many sleepless nights, but also a life with little regret. I try to swallow my fears and jump head first into whatever I’m working on, whether it is choreography or business. Passion drives me and I see my future full of it.
4. Do you have a favourite quote?
“Comparison is the cardinal sin of modern life. It traps us in a game that we cannot win. Once we define ourselves in terms of others, we loose the freedom to shape our own lives."
5. What is your fondest memory growing up?
There are truly too many to count, but I absolutely loved spending a couple weeks in the spring on the ocean with my mom and grandmother. It sparked my love for the water and sea life while also reminding me that we’re all a part of something bigger.
6. What is the most adventurous thing you can say that you have done?
Took a helicopter to the middle of the great barrier reef, landed on a swim raft and went scuba diving!
7. What are the top 3 things to do on your bucket list?
1. Have a family.
2. Travel the world.
3. Change someone’s life.
8. What have you failed at before and what did you learn from this.
I’ve failed at almost everything I’ve tried at least once. I believe if you succeed at something the first time, you must not have gone after something that was difficult enough! Failing is fun! It means you get to tackle something again and again. Work hard, fail and then work even harder. Failing is what keeps me going and keeps me inspired.
9. Who inspires you?
My mom. She is the type of person that always does the right thing over the easy thing. She let’s her passions’ guide her and does not commit to anything without giving it 200%. She runs an entire township and still manages to be the most amazing mom ever. Talk about having your cake and eating it too. She’s such an inspiration to me. Oh and did I mention that she can totally kick my butt in ANY workout class? The woman has game.
10. Do you have a favourite book or movie?
Yes, the Thug Kitchen cookbook!!
11. If you had to live on a deserted island and you could only take one thing, what would you take and why?
Water. I’m confident I could survive, but unless I was stranded in the middle of Lake Michigan, I would definitely need some fresh water.
12. What 3 pieces of advice would you give for others who want to get into your field or industry?
Find your niche, then keep looking. There’s no way you’re going to be good at everything and that’s ok. Find what you excel at and enjoy that. Then find the things you don’t and work even harder at those things. Remember, failure is the fun part! It means you get to try it again.
